48 hours of intense mathematical activity finally came to a close on the evening of March 4th. 235 countries had taken part in a record breaking attempt to beat the highest number of correctly answered questions in a series of head-to-head competitions between pupils from around the world. Over a million pupils were participating with over 80,000 online at any one time. The world record was smashed with 479,732,612 questions answered correctly. Pupils at Gayhurst contributed 34,464 correct answers.
Special mention should be made of Cameron Conn who recorded the most correct answers in the school with 2,602 and Cameron also achieved the highest score of 51 correct answers in 60 seconds! William Stars 2,317 and Jamie Kumar 2,151 were the 2nd and 3rd highest points scorers. Congratulations to Bertie Simpson who achieved a 209% improvement during the competition.
